Laali, a protagonist, inspite of abject poverty believes and sees positive side of life. Laali’s father, Nanku, has to struggle every day to feed his family, sometimes he is unable to do so. But our high-spirited Laali somehow manages to feed her parents, two younger sisters – Rekha and Labli, and youngest brother Munna. Laali is very optimistic and a dreamer.
She got married at a very young age. She doesn’t remember what her husband looked like.
Laali is waiting for her Gauna (Vidaayi) and dreams about the day when her husband, Ganeshya, will take her with him. Nanku and Majri (Laali’s mother) also want to do Laali’s Gauna soon so she can live a happy life. But they’re unable to arrange the money required for the function. Getting two square meals is a huge struggle for Nanku.
How long will Lalli have to wait for her dreams to come true? Will she have to sacrifice her dreams for her family? |
